Context — A Prophecy against Gog
6as well as Gomer with all its troops, and Beth-togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
7Get ready; prepare yourself, you and all your company gathered around you; you will be their guard. 8After a long time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.Cross References

Ezekiel 38:6 Summary
In Ezekiel 38:6, we see that God is gathering many nations, including Gomer and Beth-togarmah, to attack Israel in the end times. This shows us that God is in control of all the nations, as mentioned in Psalm 2:1-4, and that He has a plan to bring them all before Him. As we read this verse, we can remember that God is our protector and defender, just like He will be for Israel, as promised in Psalm 121:3-4. We can trust in His power and sovereignty, even when the world around us seems uncertain, and pray for His will to be done, as Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:10.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are Gomer and Beth-togarmah in Ezekiel 38:6?
Gomer and Beth-togarmah are ancient nations that are believed to be located in modern-day Turkey or other parts of Eastern Europe, as mentioned in Ezekiel 38:6 and also in Genesis 10:2-3, which describes the descendants of Noah's sons.
What does it mean that these nations are 'from the far north'?
The phrase 'from the far north' refers to the geographical location of these nations in relation to Israel, as seen in Ezekiel 38:6, and is also mentioned in other prophecies such as Jeremiah 1:14-15, where God warns of a threat coming from the north.
Why are these nations accompanying other armies in this prophecy?
The nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38:6, including Gomer and Beth-togarmah, are accompanying other armies because they are all part of a large coalition that will attack Israel in the end times, as described in Ezekiel 38:1-9, and also referenced in Revelation 20:8-9, where a similar scenario is depicted.
Is this prophecy being fulfilled today?
While we can see some of the stage being set for this prophecy, its ultimate fulfillment is still in the future, as indicated in Ezekiel 38:8, which mentions that Israel will be living securely after being gathered from many nations, a situation that has not yet occurred, but is also referenced in Isaiah 11:11-12, where a similar restoration is described.
