Context — Restoring the Sabbath
23Yet they would not listen or incline their ear, but they stiffened their necks and would not listen or receive My discipline.
24If, however, you listen carefully to Me, says the LORD, and bring no load through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, and keep the Sabbath day holy, and do no work on it, 25then kings and princes will enter through the gates of this city. They will sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses with their officials, along with the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.Cross References

Jeremiah 17:23 Summary
[Jeremiah 17:23 tells us that the people refused to listen to God's commands, including the command to keep the Sabbath holy, and instead stiffened their necks against Him. This means they stubbornly refused to obey God's will, which is a sign of rebellion against Him (as seen in Deuteronomy 9:13). By rejecting God's discipline, the people were essentially rejecting God's love and care for them, which is a central theme in Jeremiah 17:23. We can learn from their example by being more receptive to God's correction and guidance in our own lives, as seen in Proverbs 3:11-12 and Hebrews 12:5-11.]
