What Impatience Does Matthew 18:21-30 This might be the most important message in your life!

Goal:To learn what patience is, and to have God develop His patience in you. In your patience possess ye your souls. - Luke 21:19 There is a freedom that comes into your soul with patience, And a bondage that comes into your soul with impatience. For ye have need ofpatience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. - Hebrews 10:36

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: - Romans 15:5

I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and inthe kingdom and patienceof Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. - Revelation 1:9 qPatience is accepting a difficult situation without giving God a deadline to do something about it. qPatience is not tolerance of sin or evil or wrong, but patience is being willing to wait on God. qPatience is a calmness of spirit that trusts God even with the difficulties, trials, troubles, and frustrations of life. qPatience is giving God the time to do what only He can do once you have done what you’ve needed to do. qPatience is being confronted with frustration without becoming frustrated. qPatience is dealing with immaturity without acting immature. qPatience is dealing with impatience without becoming impatient. qPatience is dealing with anger without becoming angry. qPatience is facing evil without developing an evil attitude. qPatience is recognizing that God is in control, and being impatient will not speed God up. It will ultimately slow you down.

What Impatience Does 1. Impatience Produces Anger, Bitterness, and Unforgiveness Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak,slow to wrath: - James 1:19 God’s anger is always righteous, while man’s anger is always unrighteous.

Biblical patience must be a part of our lives, if we are to be productive and fruitful for God.

Patience is Not Tolerance of Evil The Lord is notslack(slow or delaying) concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but islongsuffering(patient) to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thypatience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: - Revelation 2:2 Impatience fails to respect people as equals in the sight of God.

Impatience is rooted in PRIDE! (Ecclesiastes 7:8)

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. - Ecclesiastes 7:8

IMPORTANT: The single biggest problem with raising children is not with the children, but with the parent’s own impatience and anger.

Two Key Words When Raising Children: PATIENTFIRMNESS

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. - Psalms 103:13 2.     Impatience Demonstrates a Lack of True Love (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Charity(love)suffereth long(is patient), and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, - 1 Corinthians 13:4 Impatience in the parent(s) will produce rebellious children. Our modern dating system in our society is the fruit of the lack of patience.

We wind up playing with our emotions, because we are not willing to wait on God’s timing.

Marriage without parental blessings is nothing more than refusing to be patient.

Divorce is often the fruit of impatience.

3.Impatience Cuts You Off from All the Blessings that Follow Patience And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. - Romans 5:3-5 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God,in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, - 2 Corinthians 6:4

Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among youin all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. - 2 Corinthians 12:12

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power,unto all patience and longsufferingwith joyfulness; - Colossians 1:11 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for yourpatienceand faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: - 2 Thessalonians 1:4

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. - James 1:3-4 Impatience keeps you from spiritual maturity.

Impatience guarantees an increase in irritations, trials, and tribulations.

Trials will always develop patience or bitterness.

4.Impatience Stops the Production of Godly Fruit But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. - Luke 8:15 (it takes patience to produce fruit) How Do You Get Patience?

1.Seek and Pray for the skill of patience. (1 Timothy 6:11) 2.Learn from, instead of running from, your trials (Romans 5:3, James 1:3) 3.Model your life after those around you who have patience (Hebrews 6:12) 4.Study and meditate on the lives of the prophets (James 5:10) 5.Read the book of Job several times (James 5:11) 6.Yield to and be filed with the Holy Spirit and His fruit (Galatians 5:22) 7.Make yourself accountable to someone to not demonstrate impatience and anger (Hebrews 10:25) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but islongsufferingto us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9
