30. Intercession
Intercession
Deuteronomy 26:15. Look down from Thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Thy people and the land which Thou hast given us.
1 Kings 8:46-50. If the people sin against Thee—for there is no man that sinneth not—and Thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto the land of the enemy, far or near; yet, if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto Thee in the land of them that carried them captive, and say, “We have sinned, we have done perversely and wickedly”; if they return to Thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who carried them captive, and pray unto Thee, then hear Thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven Thy dwelling-place, and forgive the people who have sinned against Thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against Thee, and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them.
2 Chronicles 30:18-19. May the good Lord pardon every one that setteth his heart to seek the Lord God of his fathers.
Psalms 28:9. Save Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance. Shepherd them also, and bear them up for ever.
Psalms 51:18. Do good in Thy good pleasure unto Zion.
Luke 23:34. Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Acts 7:60. Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.
John 17:16-17. I pray, not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth.
Ephesians 3:15-19. O Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named! Grant, according to the riches of Thy glory, that they may be strengthened with might through Thy spirit in the inward man: that Christ may dwell in their hearts by faith—to the end that, being rooted and grounded in love, they may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that they may be filled unto all the fullness of God.
