13. The twelve chosen. Matthew 10. Our present lesson takes up the life work of the Son of God with his first recorded miracle at Cana. Then we follow him to the cleansing of the temple. After this we read of his talk with Nicodemus, and John’s testimony con¬cerning Christ. Next, his visit to Samaria and return to Galilee, and his teaching the people who came to hear him.
After this we find him calling more disciples. Then comes the noted sermon on the mount, the call of Matthew, a mir¬acle in Jerusalem, then calling and ordaining the twelve apostles. This, we might say, ends the first general trip of the Son of God while living on the earth.
