Of Ophel] it was a place at the foot of mount Moriah, so called by reason of its shaddowie scituation; and it was between the foundations of the Temple, and the wall of the city; and it seemeth that by this wall of Ophel, may as well hee meant the foot of the Temple, built with great counter-forts, as the wall of the city, Neh. 3. 26. 27. and 11. 21.
