Isaiah 20

TSB

Isaiah 20:1-6

Contents: Prophecy of the wasting of Egypt and Ethiopia by Assyria.

Characters: God, Isaiah, Tartan, Sargon.

Conclusion: Those who make the creature their expectation and glory and so put it in the place of God, will sooner or later be brought to shame for it and will be utterly disappointed in creature confidences.

Key Word: Shame, Isaiah 20:5.

Striking Facts: Isaiah 20:2. This would be a great hardship upon God’s servant, exposing him to ridicule and endangering his health. When we are doing as God commands, however foolish it may seem, we may trust Him with our credit and safety.
