Daily Cheer for All the Year

Rejoice evermore. In everything give thanks.— I THESS. v, 16, 18.

Lord, with glowing heart I'd praise Thee

For the bliss Thy love bestows,

For the pardoning grace that saves me,

And the peace that from it flows;

Help, O God, my weak endeavor;

This dull soul to rapture raise:

Thou must light the flame, or never

Can my love be warmed to praise.

FRANCIS S. KEY.

Gratitude is a debt which all men owe, and which few pay cheerfully.

If gratitude is due from man to man, how much more from man to his Maker! The Supreme Being does not only confer upon us those bounties which proceed more immediately from His hand, but even those benefits which are conveyed to us by others. Every blessing we enjoy, by what means soever it may be derived upon us, is the gift of Him who is the great Author of good and Father of mercies.

Everything we make is available for free because of a generous community of supporters.
