διέρχομαι. OG/S 66535 (A.D. 49) καὶ τούτους δὲ στέγηι μόνον δέxer8at τοὺς διερχομένους. Field (WVo/es, p. 88) points out that the preposition must not be pressed, as in Jn 4° RV; all that it implies is merely that a certain distance is to be traversed, whether long or short, cf. Lk 24%, Ac 97. But this does not involve ignoring the difference between the compound and the AV simplex: the RV exaggeration 1s slight, and very effective. Ramsay Exp V. i. p. 385 ff. argues that δ. in Ac implies missionary travel. The veib is very common in connexion with past time, e.g. Rev L 18° (iii/p.c.) ὅταν δὶὲ ὃ πεπραμένος χρόνος ἅπας διελθῆι, P Oxy 11. 238° (A.D. 72) ἐν τῶι διεληλυθότι τετάρτωι ἔτει, 7).
