to come, to go to move from one place to another, either coming or going Note that in MRK 4:21 the subject of ἔρχεται is not something that would normally move by its own force but would need to be brought. Accordingly, in a number of languages it is necessary to say ‘no one brings a lamp ...’

Collocation: ἔρχομαι ἐν ἐνδύμασιν προβάτων
to pretend to be good, to act hypocritically, to come in sheeps clothing (an idiom, literally: to come in sheeps clothing) to pretend to be harmless when in reality one is dangerous and destructive In many languages it is possible to retain the idiom ἔρχομαι ἐν ἐνδύμασιν προβάτων, since the context seems to explain rather clearly what is meant. However, in a number of languages it may be necessary to translate ἔρχομαι ἐν ἐνδύμασιν προβάτων as ‘to come looking like sheep’ or ‘to come looking as innocent as sheep.’
1 ἔρχομαι[a] involves a highly generic meaning of movement from one place to another, either coming or going. In this sense ἔρχομαι[a] contrasts with the meaning of ἔρχομαι[b] to come (15.81), which in turn contrasts in certain contexts with ὑπάγω[b] to go away from (15.35). In other words, ἔρχομαι occurs on two taxonomic levels in the domain of Linear Movement: (1) generic, including both coming and going, and (2) to come, in contrast with to go. This type of analysis seems far more legitimate than trying to set up highly complex series of shifts in so-called perspective viewpoint. See also footnote b. 2 ἔρχομαι[b] to come or to come to is a more restricted or specific meaning than ἔρχομαι[a], which means either to come or to go, that is to say, simply to move from one place to another without specifying any viewpoint character or place (see 15.7).
