Holiness in Christian Life

The concept of holiness in Christian life is rooted in the biblical idea of being set apart for God's purposes, as seen in Leviticus 20:26, where God commands His people to be holy because He is holy. This theme is further developed in the New Testament, where believers are called to live a life of holiness, separated from sin and dedicated to God, as expressed in 1 Peter 1:15-16, which exhorts Christians to be holy in all their conduct. According to Romans 12:1-2, this pursuit of holiness involves presenting one's body as a living sacrifice to God, and being transformed by the renewing of one's mind, in order to discern God's will and live a life that is pleasing to Him. Through this process, Christians are enabled to live a life that reflects God's character, as described in Psalms 15:1-5, and to embody the holiness that is their calling as children of God.
