For if you go back, joining yourselves to the rest of these nations who are still among you, getting married to them and living with them and they with you:
For if you do turn from him, and adopt the ways of the nations that are left, if you intermarry with them, associating with one another,
Els, if ye goe backe, and cleaue vnto the rest of these nations: that is, of them that remaine with you, and shall make marriages with them, and goe vnto them, and they to you,

Context — Joshua’s Charge to Leaders
12For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations that remain among you, and if you intermarry and associate with them,
13know for sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become for you a snare and a trap, a scourge in your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the LORD your God has given you. 14Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the LORD your God made to you has failed. Everything was fulfilled for you; not one promise has failed.Cross References

Joshua 23:12 Summary
[This verse is a warning to the Israelites not to form close relationships with the nations that were not driven out of the land, because it could lead to spiritual compromise and idolatry. It's like when we befriend people who don't share our values and beliefs, and we start to adopt their ways, which can pull us away from God. As it says in Psalm 1:1, 'Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked.' We need to be careful about who we associate with and make sure we're not compromising our faith. By trusting in God's power and promises, like in Deuteronomy 31:6, we can stay strong and faithful.]
