[Lk] And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
Luk 5:2 [Lk] and saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing [their] nets.
[Lk] And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
[Lk] Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
[Lk] And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Luk 5:6 [Lk] And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
[Lk] And they beckoned unto [their] partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
[Lk] When Simon Peter saw [it], he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Luk 5:9 [Lk] For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
[Lk] and so [was] also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
Luk 5:11 [Lk] And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
42. Jesus Cleanses a Leper [Mat 8:2-4; Mark 1:40-45; & Luk 5:12-16]

[Mt Mk Lk] a [ Lk] man full of [Mt Mk Lk] lepr [ Lk] -osy, who seeing Jesus [ Mk ] kneeled down to him, [ ] [and] [ Lk] fell on [his] face, [Mt ] and worshipped him, [ Mk Lk] and besought him, [Mt Mk Lk] saying [ Mk ] unto him, [Mt Lk] Lord, [Mt Mk Lk] if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

[ ] [and] [ Lk] there went a fame abroad of him, [ Mk ] insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places:

Luk 5:16 [ Lk] And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
[At this point Matthew jumps to Plate G. But Luk 7:1 reveals that the events which begin Plate G took place directly after the events which close Plate F. Hence I follow Mark and Luke at this point.]

[ Mk ] And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive [them], no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
[ Lk] And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was [present] to heal them.

45. The Question about Fasting [Mat 9:14-17; Mark 2:18-22; & Luk 5:33-39]

[Mt ] we [ Mk Lk] the disciples of John [Mt Mk Lk] fast [Mt Lk] often, [ Lk] and make prayers,
[Mt Mk Lk] and [ Lk] likewise [the disciples]
[ Mk Lk] of [Mt Mk Lk] the Pharisees; but thy [Mt Mk ] disciples fast not, [ ] [but] [ Lk] eat and drink?

Luk 8:49 [ Mk Lk] While he yet spake, there cometh
[ Lk] one [ Mk Lk] from the ruler of the synagogue’s [house], saying [ Lk] to him, [ Mk Lk] Thy daughter is dead;
[ Lk] trouble not [ Mk Lk] the Master:

Mat 9:24 [Mt Mk Lk] he saith [Mt Mk ] unto them, [ Mk ] Why make ye this ado, and weep?
[Mt ] Give place;
[ Lk] weep not:
[Mt ] for [Mt Mk ] the damsel [Mt Mk Lk] is not dead, but sleepeth.
Luk 8:53 [Mt Mk Lk] And they laughed him to scorn, [ Lk] knowing that she was dead.
Luk 8:54 [Mt Mk Lk] But when [ Mk Lk] he had [Mt Mk Lk] put forth
[ Mk Lk] all [Mt ] the people,
[Mt Mk ] he [ Mk ] taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and [Mt Mk ] entereth in [ Mk ] where the damsel was lying.
[Mt Mk Lk] And
[ Mk Lk] he [Mt Mk Lk] took [ Mk ] the damsel [Mt Mk Lk] by the hand,
[ Mk Lk] and [ Lk] called [ Mk ] unto her, [ Mk Lk] saying, [ Mk ] Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, [ Mk Lk] Maid, [ Mk ] I say unto thee, [ Mk Lk] arise.
Luk 8:55 a [ Lk] And her spirit came again:
[Mt Mk Lk] and [ Mk Lk] straightway [Mt Mk ] the damsel [Mt Mk Lk] arose, [ Mk ] and walked.
[ Mk Lk] And [ Lk] her parents [ Mk Lk] were astonished [ Mk ] with a great astonishment.
Mark 5:43 [ Mk Lk] And he charged them [ Mk ] straitly [ Lk] that they should tell no man what was done, [ Mk ] that no man should know it.
Luk 8:55 b [ Mk Lk] And he commanded that something should be given her to eat.
Mat 9:26 [Mt ] And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

47. Jesus Heals Two Blind Men
[Mt] And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
[Mt] And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Mat 9:29 [Mt] Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Mat 9:30 [Mt] And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
Mat 9:31 [Mt] But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
48. Jesus Heals a Mute
Mat 9:32 [Mt] As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
[Mt] And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
Mat 9:34 [Mt] But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
[At this point Matthew and Luke jump to Plate L. But in Plate L Jesus sends forth the Twelve Apostles (Mark 6:7), who are not selected until Plate F (Luk 6:13). Mark jumps to Plate K, which records Jesus’ final rejection in his hometown of Nazareth. But both Matthew and Mark place this event near the close of Jesus’ Galilaean ministry. The best solution is to follow Mark and Luke in placing Plate F directly after Plate D, with Plate E inserted between them.]
