to place = to make a habitation for.

bread of affliction. Figure of speech Metonymy (of Subject) = bread which is the symbol of their affliction in Egypt.
in haste. Not the reason given in Exodus 12:17 for the Exodus. But here the reason why the bread was un-. leavened. There was no time for it to “rise” by fermentation.
