Psalms 92
BSA1 It is good [a beneficial thing, desirable] to praise [give thanks, express gratitude] the LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], and to sing [make melody, offer hymns] praises [songs of worship, hymns of adoration] to Your name [Your character, reputation], O Most High [Elyon, the exalted One], word study 2 to proclaim [declare, show forth] Your loving devotion [merciful kindness, faithfulness] in the morning [every morning, at dawn] and Your faithfulness [trustworthy love, unchanging faith] at night [every night, in the evenings] word study 3 with the ten-stringed [having ten cords, a ten-corded instrument] harp [lyre, a stringed musical instrument] and the melody [a solemn sound, quiet music] of the lyre [psaltery, a stringed instrument]. word study 4 For You, O LORD [the supreme God, Yehovah], have made me glad [caused me to rejoice, happy] by Your deeds [works, actions]; I sing [will triumph, shout for joy] for joy [with a joyful heart] at the works [things made, creations] of Your hands [power, care]. word study 5 How great [exceedingly magnificent, amazing] are Your works [deeds, actions], O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God], how deep [very profound, exceedingly credible] are Your thoughts [plans, intentions]! word study 6 A [brutish] senseless man [without understanding, unwise] does not know [is unaware, has no knowledge of this], and a [foolish, stupid] fool [lacking discernment, unperceptive] does not understand [comprehend, grasp], word study 7 that though the wicked [like grass, quickly] sprout like grass, and all evildoers [workers of iniquity, those who do evil] flourish, they will be [completely] forever destroyed. word study 8 But You, O LORD [the supreme God, Yehovah], are exalted [on high, most high] forever [for all eternity, perpetually]! word study 9 For surely [indeed, truly] Your enemies [haters, those who oppose You], O LORD [Yehovah], surely [certainly, without a doubt] Your enemies [those who resist Your will] will perish [be destroyed, die]; all evildoers [workers of iniquity, those who do wicked things] will be scattered [put to flight, destroyed]. word study 10 But You have exalted my horn [a unicorn] like that of a wild ox; with fine [fresh, pure] oil I have been anointed [with the best olive oil, to be very joyful]. word study 11 My eyes [also, to gaze with satisfaction] see the downfall [defeat, ruin] of my enemies [those who hate me, foes]; my ears hear [to hear with pleasure] the wailing [crying out, lamenting] of my wicked [evil, unrighteous] foes [those who rise up against me]. word study 12 The righteous [those who live right, upright] will flourish [prosper, thrive] like a palm tree, and grow [increase, become strong] like a cedar [a tall, majestic tree] in Lebanon [a region known for its lush forests]. word study 13 Planted [rooted, established] in the house [temple, dwelling place] of the LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], they will flourish [sprout, bloom] in the courts [gardens, outer spaces] of our God [the Almighty, Creator]. word study 14 In old age [advanced years, seniority] they will still bear fruit [produce spiritual results, flourish]; healthy [full of sap, flourishing] and green [thriving, vigorous] they will remain [endure, stay fresh], word study 15 to proclaim [declare, show], “The LORD [Yehovah, the self-existent God] is upright [righteous, just]; He is my Rock [my refuge, my shelter], and in Him [within His character] there is no unrighteousness [no wickedness, no perverseness].” word study
