Context — Asa Reigns in Judah
6Because the land was at peace, Asa built fortified cities in Judah. In those days no one made war with him, because the LORD had given him rest.
7So he said to the people of Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, with doors and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered. 8Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin bearing small shields and drawing the bow. All these were mighty men of valor.Cross References

2 Chronicles 14:6 Summary
[This verse means that when King Asa and the people of Judah obeyed God and removed idols, God gave them peace and rest, allowing them to build and prosper, as seen in 2 Chronicles 14:7. This is similar to the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, where God promises to give us a future and a hope. The peace and rest that God gives is a result of trusting in Him and obeying His commands, as stated in Proverbs 3:5-6. By seeking God and obeying His commands, we can experience peace and rest in our own lives, just like King Asa and the people of Judah.]
