Numbers 18:30
Numbers 18:30 in Multiple Translations
Therefore say to the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the produce of the threshing floor or winepress.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye heave the best thereof from it, then it shall be reckoned unto the Levites as the increase of the threshing-floor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Say to them, then, When the best of it is lifted up on high, it is to be put to the account of the Levites as the increase of the grain-floor and of the place where the grapes are crushed.
So tell the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be considered as your contribution produced by your threshing floor or winepress.
Therefore thou shalt say vnto them, When ye haue offred the fat thereof, then it shalbe couted vnto the Leuites, as the encrease of the corne floore, or as the encrease of the wine presse.
'And thou hast said unto them, In your lifting up its fat out of it, then it hath been reckoned to the Levites, as increase of a threshing-floor, and as increase of a wine-vat;
“Therefore you shall tell them, ‘When you heave its best from it, then it shall be credited to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the wine press.
Therefore thou shalt say to them, When ye have heaved from it the best of it, then it shall be counted to the Levites as the increase of the threshing-floor, and as the increase of the wine-press.
And thou shalt say to them: If you offer all the goodly and the better things of the tithes, it shall be reckoned to you as if you had given the firstfruits of the barnfloor and the winepress:
“Also, tell this to the descendants of Levi: ‘When you present those best portions of grain and wine as your offering to me, I will consider that those gifts are as though they came from your own grain fields and vineyards.

Context — Offerings for Priests and Levites
30Therefore say to the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the produce of the threshing floor or winepress.
31And you and your households may eat the rest of it anywhere; it is the compensation for your work at the Tent of Meeting. 32Once you have presented the best part of it, you will not incur guilt because of it. But you must not defile the sacred offerings of the Israelites, or else you will die.’”Cross References

Numbers 18:30 Summary
[Numbers 18:30 teaches us that when we give the best part of what we have to the Lord, He considers it as a valuable offering, like the produce from a harvest (Deuteronomy 26:2). This means that we should strive to give our best to God, whether it's our time, money, or talents, and trust that He will provide for us in return (2 Corinthians 9:7). By giving the best part to the Lord, we acknowledge His sovereignty and provision in our lives, and we can have confidence that He will bless us and meet our needs (Philippians 4:19).]
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the significance of presenting the best part to the Lord in Numbers 18:30?
Presenting the best part to the Lord signifies giving Him the first and finest of our resources, as seen in Deuteronomy 26:2, where the Israelites were to give the firstfruits of their crops to the Lord, acknowledging His provision and sovereignty.
How does Numbers 18:30 relate to the concept of tithing?
This verse is part of the instruction on tithing, where the Levites, who received tithes from the Israelites, were to give a tenth of the best part to the Lord, as mentioned in Numbers 18:26, highlighting the importance of giving back to God from what He has given us.
What is the threshing floor or winepress in Numbers 18:30?
The threshing floor or winepress represents the place of harvest and abundance, as seen in Isaiah 16:9, where the Lord is the one who brings forth the harvest, and in Numbers 18:30, it signifies that the Levites' presentation of the best part will be reckoned as the produce of the threshing floor or winepress, symbolizing God's provision and blessing.
How does this verse apply to believers today?
