Leviticus 24:3

OF the testimony] Drawn before the Arke, where the tables of the Law were, which were called the testimony: Exodus 25:16.

Leviticus 24:4

The pure] Made of pure gold, and kept exceeding pure.

Leviticus 24:6

The pure table] Covered over with pure gold: Exodus 25:24.

Leviticus 24:7

Purefrankircense] See upon Exodus 30:34 A memoriall] For that part of the offering which belonged to God, for the remainder was the Priests: see upon Leviticus 2:2.

Leviticus 24:8

Everlasting covenant] That is to say, by my command, and your own voluntary agreement to obey it.

Leviticus 24:9

Andit shall be] After he hath put new ones there, upon the Sabbath day Most holy] See upon Leviticus 2:3

Leviticus 24:11

The name] That singular essentiall and glorious name of everlasting Lord, by which name he had revealed himself to his people by Moses: Exodus 3:14.

Leviticus 24:14

Lay their hands] For a confirmation of their witnesse Stone him] The ordinary punishment for blasphemers: Deut. 7. 5. 1 King. 21. 13.

Leviticus 24:22

For I am] I command you by vertue of the absolute power, which I have over you: and I will have you herein to be imitators of my indifferent Justice, free from all acceptation of persons.
