Why am I to cultivate myself? Simply that I may make this knowledge of myself the most complete of all the things here on earth, as perfect as I can? Why am I to serve my fellow-men? Because I would help them a little in the struggles which would lift them toward God? Both of them are reasons; but both lie within the one great reason which exists in the mystery of the union of all men, and the existence of all life, in God. I am to serve myself, I am to educate myself, because I am a part of God, be-

cause I am fulfilling this life, which is a part of God's life.
