Self-culture is going to escape from the dangers of self-culture only by becoming a deeper power of self-culture, and self-sacrifice is going to escape

from its dangers only by sacrificing itself more completely. In order to cultivate himself more completely the man is to sacrifice himself more completely. In order to sacrifice himself more completely, he is to cultivate himself more completely. These two great principles of existence will only come into harmony with one another in mutually ministering to one another, as they pour themselves out together and mingle with one another, and find themselves a part of the great plan of God.
