Bravery

5 sermons

Bravery is a virtue highly esteemed in the Bible, often exemplified by individuals who demonstrated courage and faith in the face of adversity, such as David standing against Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-51). The Bible teaches that bravery is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to trust in God's sovereignty and provision, as seen in Psalms 23:4, where the psalmist writes, "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." As Christians, we are encouraged to be brave in our witness and faith, knowing that God works all things together for good (Romans 8:28), and that He will give us the strength and courage we need to persevere through trials (Philippians 4:13). Through the lens of Christian faith, bravery is not just a human quality, but a spiritual one, rooted in our trust and confidence in God's power and love.
