Judges 3:28 Summary
This verse shows how Ehud, a leader of the Israelites, trusted in God to give them victory over their enemies, the Moabites. Ehud told the Israelites to follow him, saying that God had already given them the victory, and then they worked together to capture the fords of the Jordan River, which led to their success. This story teaches us that when we trust in God's power and promises, we can experience great victories, just like the Israelites did (as seen in Joshua 1:9 and Psalm 37:3-7). By following God's lead and trusting in His power, we can overcome challenges and experience peace, just like the Israelites did after their victory over the Moabites.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the significance of Ehud saying 'the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand'?
Ehud's statement emphasizes God's sovereignty and involvement in the battle, as seen in similar statements in Joshua 6:16 and 1 Samuel 17:46, where God gives His people victory over their enemies.
Why did Ehud and the Israelites seize the fords of the Jordan leading to Moab?
By seizing the fords, Ehud and the Israelites prevented the Moabites from escaping, which is a military tactic also seen in Judges 12:5-6, and allowed them to launch a successful attack, as God had given them the victory.
How does this verse demonstrate Ehud's leadership and faith?
Ehud's leadership and faith are demonstrated by his bold declaration of God's deliverance and his actions in leading the Israelites to seize the fords, showing trust in God's promise, similar to Joshua's faith in Joshua 1:9.
What can we learn from Ehud's example about trusting God in difficult situations?
Ehud's example teaches us to trust in God's power and promises, even in challenging circumstances, just as Psalm 37:3-7 encourages us to trust in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart.
